Great shorts
My seven-year-old loves these. She needs a solid size 8 in these, but some 7s in some other pieces from this line. I think they are TTS to a smidge small for overall length. They are TTS to a little generous for her in the waist. My kiddo has long legs, and I think they will look a little short by the time summer weather ends in October. I would buy a 10 for more length, but they will fall off her waist. Otherwise, the material seems durable--not heavyweight denim, but not a lightweight like chambray. My girl reports that they are comfy, she loves them, and she wants another pair just like them. :) Due to the waist in these, her younger sister cannot wear this style. She is fairly thin, and they are just too big with no way to take up enough slack for them to be comfortable and look good on her. If you have a super thin child, these might not be your winner.
